It’s nice to see how people you know get on, and their family… I don’t know Matthew Upson, but I do know Ellie’s dad Paul, and I have met his family when they were much younger.

Ellie joined other footballers’ WAGs in a bid to break the stereotype by appearing in the BBC Three TV documentary WAGs, Kids and World Cup Dreams, helping deprived children in the tournament’s host country of South Africa.
The runner, who is hoping to compete in the London 2012 Olympics, will join Matthew in South Africa as England start their World Cup campaign against the USA on Saturday, 12 June 2010.”
It’s nice to see someone get on in life; Ellie Upson is the daughter of Paul Darby, who knows my Cousin, and I have met him a few times.
Paul used to work with my Cousin Wayne, but later in life ha had a career change. He is married to his wife Hayley, and they live in the West Midlands.
Paul is a likable chap, with a good sense of humour, and he has bought up his family of mixed ethnic origin in a good way.
I’ll speak highly of Paul, Ellie’s father, as he has kept in touch with my Cousin Wayne, and they have gone on holiday together. Paul does not have any “side” on him, and he is a straightforward character.

Scandal: Boringly scandal free – so far. (That is a good point, it’s great to break the mould there Ellie!)

No; this girl is no “WAG”, she is an intelligent girl, who knows what she wants out of life, enjoying it to the full, and freely flowing as her own person, with no “made up character”. She has no false pretences, and I am quietly confident that she will do well in the 2012 Olympics.
